Hell's Kitchen Full of Smokers

I like Hell's Kitchen, it's my favorite of the action-kitchen genre. I have been watching for a few years, but I'm really not impressed with the amount of smoking in the new season 6. So far, every episode (1-4) of the 9pm(Tuesday) Fox network reality program has featured it's contestants smoking cigarettes at some point in the show. No wonder these guys can't cook, they can't taste the food because of their ashtray mouths. It's pretty disgusting on a food related show.

These screencaps are all from separate shots of Hell's Kitchen cooks smoking in the first four episodes:

It seems like a lot of smoking to have on tv. I wonder if chef Gordon Ramsay cares about the health of his chefs at all?

TOOL Rocks Molson Amphitheatre! 8/5/2009

My buddy Hollywood rules! We got blazed in the parking lot, then found the end of the huge line into the Amp.

I ran into Jagger and his fiance Ashlie, we discussed legal briefs and TOOL setlists. Jagger decided not to look at the internet to see what songs the band will play. In the past he would predict the set and be pretty accurate (but I think his mind was once blown at ACC with a Salival version of Pushit)

TOOL was good but I've seen them a few times, and it's tough when you compare it to other shows. The set was close to the last time I saw them on the 10,000 Days Tour, not surprising since they don't have a new album to support. Maynard was the most talkitive I've ever seen him, "Holy shit that's a lot of Canadians!" and he kept saying something about French Fries. He introduced a guest guitarist for 46&2 as Stephen Hawking, and later Christopher Robin joined Danny on drums for Lateralus. We had a good enough view of the stage from section 304 (considering I'm fucking blind, I could at least see people on it). They definatly blew my mind out the back of my skull with trippy visuals on the screens and crazy lazers. The best part of the visual aspect was when the lazers did a whole ASTEROIDS game thing and shot the place up. I hope they go back into studio soon to make a new record. Laturalus came out the same day as Weezer's Green, and causes simillar summer 2001 flashbacks. I love TOOL but I crave something new. Unfortunatley they only seem to put out 1 album every 5-6 years.

On the road with Mikey

We went to meet Delling at Timmy Ho's before leaving town. He and I made plans to split a hotel room for Mr. White's wedding this weekend in our nation's capital.

As we drove out of Timmins, I realized it was the first clear sunny day since we got there. Road trips with Mike are awesome. We listened to some TOOL, and as we heard the lyric "watch the weather change" in the song Disposition, it began to rain. Trippy.

We stopped at the Cobalt Bookstore and I picked up a copy of a Sartre play called Loser Wins for 52 cents, i love that place.

I can't wait to go see TOOL tomorrow with Ian. I must get my rest, I have a huge day, with so much to do before Ottawa on Thursday.

Heart of gold, bowels of Poutine

Leaving Timmins in an hour or two. Had a great trip, saw tons of friends and family, had many beers and poutines. It was so cool meeting Cayen's little girl Ca$h.

Timmins lost it's Harveys restaurant (BK is also gone but who cares?). Mike has been dying to get some Har-Hars, so we're gonna get lunch in Liskard.

Looking forward to a few seconds in Toronto(and at TOOL) then off to Ottawa for Mr. White's wedding, then back to T.O., flying out to the City in one week.

Hip! Hip!

I met Cayen's daughter Cash, finally. She is so cute. Cayen and I go way back, and I've seen so many pictures of his kid it was great to meet the little princess. John's girlfriend Caroline made an excellent meal and I had dinner with them. Cayen is a family man now so he didn't come out for beers with Mike and I.

I walked over to the Sports Gal and met up with Mikey, Delling showed up shortly after. I did Jaggerbombs with the Brothers Quinn (toasting my Brother Marc). I saw a girl I haven't seen in 8 years, she looked as good now as she did then, fantastic.

Mike, Delling and I grabbed some poutine at Chez-Nous (flawless).

When we got home I smoked a bowl and listened to Weezer's Green, Island in the Sun, Hip! Hip!

Mister Twitter Twitter

I had an awesome dinner at Pépère and Mémère Chabot's place. My tante Nicole was there with her husband and kids, who are now adults themselves. My cousin Adam was way taller than I could have imagined, I haven't seen him in about ten years.

Best quote from Pépère as everyone is talking about Facebook:

"That Mister Twitter-Twitter, he's a popular guy nowadays" -Marcel Chabot

I went to Bri's after, smoked a bowl then went to meet up with Mikey at Co-po's(Corner Pockets, for those not "in the know"). Paul B's sister Nadia was bartending, it was good to see her and I guess she will be at the wedding next week. I called Delling, he said he wouldn't be coming out, then I said we would miss him, "Wait who is "we"? Mike is in town!?! Oh, o.k. I will come out!", I guess I wasn't enough to get him out on my own, bastard.

We moved along to Sports Gal, saw some people I knew a bit. Then Delling said we should check out the Fusion, so we did, saw some more peeps I know(rather, these people all know me, I'm not always 100% sure who they are). It's hard to miss Bobby Shivers though.

We closed the night with some Chez Nous (Med Quebec Poutine), we ate em on the steps and walked back home, just like back in the day.

Tonight I plan on hitting some more bars, Mikey might be out, but he is a terrible wingman. Hopefully I can meet up with Cayen and find some trouble.

Hanging with Bri

I went to hang out with Brianna today, she picked me up at Mikes. We hung out on her newly finished backyard patio with her boyfriend Chris and her doggy Max.

I was going to go out to see Cayen tonight at co-po's, but Mike and I just hung out here at home with his mom.

Tomorrow I've got to go see my Pepere and Memere, and grandma Frances.

I think Mike and I will probably go out for some beers later.

Marty McFly of Chenier Ave

I am back in my hometown of Timmins Ontario. I'm sitting at Mikey's kitchen table, across the street is the house I grew up in.

Mikes house hasn't changed much in 10 years, I found a PC Gamer CD-ROM from March 1997.

When I woke up in Mikey's basement this morning I thought I had been hurled back in time and was 14 again, but then I remember 9/11 and Micheal Jackson and I was thrust back to the future.

My meager stash will surely be depleted before this trip has ended.

Hitting the road

Mike is driving up to Timmins tomorrow. I'm going to go with him. road trips with Mikey are awesome cause we never get to hang out much.

V from the Con

V called from comic con. She was waiting in line for the Kevin Smith Q&A. She called me back once it started and I listened in to the first few minutes. Pretty cool to hear a Q&A live as it happens thousands of mile away. Kev was talking about Mos finishing his script after the hockey game in Brantford. Keving was shocked that it's an action film and not people standing around talking for 2 hrs, but you don't go where the puck has been...

I don't have sensitive teeth, but I noticed they always mention in the commercial that If you stop using Sensidyne you will have sensitive teeth again. They must have to say that, cause it seems like a no brain-er, stop using it and it stops working.

From Sunnyvale to L.A.

I just saw the Trailer Park Boys on Jimmy Kimmel and it was brand new. So funny. I guess the show will be on in the States on some channel now. I'm looking forward to Liquor Day in September.

The most expensive Poutine of my life

Getting the camp fee for Midnight Poutine is stressing the fuck out of me. Since Matt and Kubi are out the fee is a bit higher and I couldn't pay it in the first place.

My mom's cat swallowed a needle and thread and it cost her and my aunt 2 grand to get it out so I can't ask her for help.

Pain in the neck

Took it very easy at the gym. My neck is still sore from yesterday (but getting better). I used the recumbent bike instead of the upright bike. I am doing some neck exercises to speed along my recovery, I am also using the last little bit of THC Body Budder for pain. It really gets down into the muscle. Green Cross Rules! How did I get it here from SF? This Video may explain:

Cheese Curds at Midnight in the Desert

I hurt my neck at the gym today, I noticed it in the shower but I think it happened when I was doing weights (Seated Row perhaps).

I made a bunch more chilli which should last me all week.

I live on a floor with 3 other guys and the kitchen was disgusting, cause no one does dishes after using them. So the sink would fill up and eventually people started stacking dirty dishes on the floor(and some had food in them). So eventually I put all those pots and pans in a box which sat there for weeks and then finally when the flies showed up, I moved the box outside.

Happy Hardcore confronted me about the missing dishes, we had a spat he threatened to call Sandy (the landlord) which would have been ridiculous and I guess he realized it too cause he didn't. We talked it out and we were in agreement that it had gotten to be a gross situation. It's so tense with that dude. I gotta get out of here or I risk becoming him in about 2 years when I'm 30 and old and out of touch.

Matt informed me that he and Kubi will not be going to Burning Man this year. I'm sad but at the same time it's very exciting. It will be a very different experience from last year. It will be nice to hang out with Matt and not have him all stressed. Plus I can borrow a ton of camping equipment the guys wont be using.

At least now I know where I will be camping:

Midnight Poutine

Direct from Montréal, Québec, the Black Rock Poutine Company presents an amazing Québec delicacy that has to be tasted to be believed. We combine the awesome powers of french fries, gravy, and cheese curds into the ideal late night snack. Come get some!
Hometown: Montréal, QC

My buddy Jody from Shadyvil is in the crew and I just need to get my camp fee. I can't wait cause I love the idea of Poutine on the Playa. It was the part I most identified with last year.
Now I'm going to watch The Simpsons s15 e12 Millhouse Doesn't Live Here Anymore.

Bright Sides

I was feeling low last week, but things are looking up. I pride myself on being able to stay positive, and I was being really negative, totally bumming out.

but...

I have noticed a new muscle on my arms, my diet has a ton of protein and the gym is really giving results.

Mom is going back to work soon, and is going to finish my Burning Man coat before then.

Paul got a good job.

My computer didn't die, even with a swig of beer.

I can still see my boys the Stormalongs rock out, just like I did back in the day.

I missed Mr White's Bachelor party, but Mr Orange is coming to Toronto this week!

looking forward to Liquor day

I rocked the gym and met up with Mom who had another appointment downtown. We went to see Bruno, second time for me. So funny even the second time around. Also saw the trailer for Trailer Park Boys: Countdown to Liquor Day, which I closed my eyes for part of so I would be extra surprised in September. I hope it preems at Tiff, that would be so cool. I still have to ask Gmo about Tiff and weather she plans on getting any tickets.

The best sound ever

My macbook booted up, with only the stale smell of beer to remind me of last night's "incedent"(and the slight stickiness on the right side of my keyboard). i pledge to be more carefull in the future, and to use my computer for the purpose of good.

Thank God, mom said she would pray for my computer, I told her god doesnt handle electronics.

I was so panicked at the Stormalongs show last night, worried that I was in for a hefty repair bill. Now I feel so relieved.

Beer me and my computer too

I fucked up and spilled beer into my laptop. It does not like steamwhistle at all. It shut right down. I set it to dry out in front of a fan and crossed my fingers.

My Female Readershp

My blog is read mostly by women. In fact the only people I know read it regularly are women, my mom, my grandma, my sister, my cousin, my ex. Maybe I should embrace my audience and talk about John & Kate plus or minus 8, or how Jessica Simpson just got dumped.

Back at Moms

Mom and I walked to Yonge/Dundas and met Paul at Milestones. Paul just finished work at his new job.I followed Mom back home to Missasauga.

The plan was to record some HowardTV here at Moms house, but I don't have the right cables which sucks. HowardTV is the Howard Stern On Demand television service from Rogers, which has video content from the radio show. Sometimes crazy stuff happens and hearing it isn't enough, you have to see it.

The backup plan is to get Mom to make some progress on my Buring Man costume.

Harry Potter and The Secret to Never Getting Laid

I went to a late showing of Public Enemies with Regimbal last night. The theatre was full of lined up Harry Potter queers waiting for the midnight showing so that they could be even bigger losers the next morning. Some people were even dressed up, which is so fucking lame it hurts. A Harry Potter costume consists of a pair of round glasses, an officially licensed scarf, a magic wand, and terrible taste in books and films.

Public Enemies was ok. Johnny Depp was good, but I saw him in an episode of Sponge Bob last week and was more excited about that. Good to hang out with Regimbal

I have been working out consistently and have been getting pretty hungry so I'm eating lots, but I have cut out the junk (sugar and crap) and eating fish and fruit and egg whites. I'm getting sexy for sure.

Club Nintendo Rules!

I got an email from Nintendo today. They have announced the gifts for platinum status members, which I achieved with the help of Pikmin and a Punch-Out! pin from Paul B. I had a choice between a download WiiWare PunchOut game or a sweet full-size Super Mario Hat. Obvious which one I'm getting.I can't wait to get my hat in November, I'm gonna wear it while I play New Super Mario Wii at Christmas.

Bruno Isht Wunderbar!

Either a 5 mile swarm of bees is aproaching or the Indy race is starting this weekend.

I got an email from Jody about Poutine Camp, the best place for Canada's national dish on the Playa. It looks like I will be camping with them this year at the burn.

I went to the Gym and had a great workout, but I must have pushed really hard cause I had to eat like five times. I'm hungry now, but I'm not eating before bed (hurry up breakfast).

I went to Ryerson to meet with a group of Toronto Burners and newbie Burners for a picnic. It was cool, I saw a few people I had met at Poutine Camp last year, and I met some people who would be gong to Burning Man for the first time. It was good to share information with newbies on what to expect and answer questions.

Marc and I saw Bruno. It was the funniest thing I have seen all year, better then The Hangover. Funny and disturbing all the way through. I will go see it again and again I was laughing so much.

Shit Soul

I made a shit ton of chilli and have been living off the Tupperware remains all week. It tastes fucking awesome, I rule.

I have been going to the gym everyday and really noticing results. I'm going to be rocking rock hard abs in a few weeks.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bruno this weekend with my brother Marc, who lives in North Bay but coming for the weekend.

I have been feeling shitty in my soul. Like I'm alone most of the time and only going through the motions of life.

Scott Pilgrim Snows in July

Scott thinks all Second Cup exteriors lead into the same interior, and in film-making, it does.
I was reminded to check out the Scott Pilgrim shoot down the street from my place. Second Cup plays heavily in the movie, along with some other prominent Toronto locals. The movie takes place over two weeks in the end of winter, thus fake snow and white sheeting in July.I took these 2 photos and then was asked to leave by a mustached douche. I guess I attracted too much attention with my Youtube shirt (He must have thought I was the internet).

This movie is going to be cool.

Tom Green is FINE! Hacked not Beaten.

I posted something from an email I got from Tom Green's website. Apparently he was hacked and it was all fake, which is why I could not confirm it anywhere. I'm glad to hear he is ok. I actually posted it, deleted it and then re-posted it, but now I have taken it down for good.

Since he is still alive we should all check out his website at www.tomgreen.com (If only you had gotten a second chance with Michael Jackson).

MOON

I went to see Moon last night with Ian and HP at the AMC. We blazed en route. I used my AMC Movie Watcher Card to get a discount on the movie, HP asked if it was like a Scene Card at Scotiabank Theatres, it's actually better because along with points you sometimes get free stuff. She did not believe me but then I got a free medium coke. Ian was so crazy about getting good seats we were in the theatre while they were still cleaning it out. We were the first ones in and got perfect seats and Ian's coworker Oscar Wright showed up. Oscar is a good guy and seems to enjoy Toronto which is always cool.

Moon was fantastic! Sam Rockwell was so cool playing against himself. Watch the trailer and see how freaking cool this movie is.

I skipped the gym today in order to rest and do laundry(everything is so sweaty). But I went hard all week so I deserve a break.

Howard Stern has been away for all last week so I have been catching up on old shows. I can't wait to go to the gym with a new show tomorrow. I want to get started on free weights to get some serious muscle.

Natalie Brown in my dreams, not bad.

I woke up at 6:30 am with a text message from Ian. After shooting all night the man needs some cheese, so we took a morning drive with a nice smoked Gouda.

When I got back I went back to sleep and had a dream and I think Natalie Brown was in it. I guess it's cause I saw her classic Heinz Ketchup commercial on TV last night. it was not a sexy dream, but I wish it had been. I have had a crush on her since I was like 12. Marc and Chloe took dance at Mick School in Timmins, and Natalie Brown did as well. My cousin Chris and I used to give her standing ovations at the big dance recital. She has been in tons of comercials since then, she was the heinz Ketchup girl who slid the bottle down the table, and she was a librarian in a classic Doritos spot too. Until recently she had a show on CBC called Sophie that was cancelled(sorry mom).

I went to meet Gmo at the mall after her Mac lesson. We had some breakfast and went to the bookstore to find her a photoshop elements book. She noticed a hole in the ass of my jeans and asked if they were my only pair (the other ones have a hole in the crotch). We went to Sears and she got em some Levi's (the official Jeans of Sunny J). Granny Mo treats me so good. I took the train up to eglington and waited for her bus with her.

My workout today was great. I upped my bike ride and worked on my arms. I was so hungry afterwards and in the mood for a chicken Ceassar salad and Pasta. So I went to the nearby Metro, and while there I checked for Grapples (Marc told me about this Grape tasting Apple last night on the phone). They did not have them, but have carried them in the past. I must find this strange creation.

The cute girl at the Beer Store is an Auf Der Maur fan.

Matt & Kubi are actually considering missing Burning Man

Matt and Kubi went to Europe last month and now they are thinking of passing on Burning Man, which would totally suck. I will still be going, I have a ticket and a flight booked. It really doesn't change my plans other than my ride to the playa and my camping partners.

I booked my flight 5 minutes later

Matt & Kubi are my best friends and it won't be the same without them, at all. I really hope they change their minds. I guess no Vibrating Stripper Pole if Matt is out. I seem to get a lot of hits on my blog related to that filthy pole. I think it could get us into a crazy camp, but I can't lug it out to BRC myself. It would be nice to hook up with Poutine Camp, they have cool dudes and sexy women(and poutine on the playa!).

My Burning Man preparations here are going well. I am getting in shape and my body is feeling good. I cleaned my room a bit. I think I can get my mom started on my outfit soon.

Happy Canada Day, Mo-Fos!

I woke up this morning and even though the gym was open 9-5, fuck it, I'm not going on Canada Day. Instead I headed over to Shawna's place to meet up with Cayen and have some beers. Shawna's dog made an attempt on my leg and managed got some pre-cum on my knee.

Cayen and I had a few cold shots and headed to the Skydome.

We met Paul at the Dome and got our seats along with some more beers.

The game was fantastic with some great plays and 2 home runs back to back, and the Blue jays bet Tampa Bay 5-0.

After the game the Dome was closed and they had some fireworks which was pretty cool.

"fireworks exploding in the distance temporary towers soar fireworks emulating heaven til there are no stars anymore fireworks aiming straight at heaven temporary towers soar til there are no stars shining up in heaven til there are no stars anymore"

We went to the Steamwhistle Brewery afterwords where I wished EVERYBODY I could a happy Canada Day!

We went to a bar to have some wings and then we met up with Regimbal.

Shawna got really upset all of a sudden, she was pissed about me bad mouthing her rapist dog. i guess it's true I have been critical of Rambo's advances, but he is always trying to unload his dog jism on me so fuck him. I think she was upset about something else and just took it out on me. I really do like her dog and don't want her mad at me.

My throat is so sore from screaming obscenities at the other team (I can be a drunk asshole).

Back to the gym tomorrow.

I love Canada and I'm so happy to live here and be free.

No Rafting, No Poutine, No Strippers

I was watching Sights & Sounds at the Reverb last night and was pretty distracted thinking about my friend Paul's bachelor party in Montreal mid July. His wedding is the first week of August in Ottawa. I can't go to the bachelor party. It just doesn't make sense on so many levels. I can't afford it being the main one. I talked to Mike W on the phone and he understood. He's flying to Montreal and then he's coming to Toronto. Hopefully we can go to the wedding together cause it would be fun and we could save on travel(I get a ViaRail discount).

it's nice to bring myself back down to earth and not think beyond what is possible (till Burning Man).

I see all these dudes at the gym with cartoonishly large arms, I think they must be on the juice. I'm not down with that, I want to look natural.

I went to get beers with Cayen in preperation for Canada Day. I saw some stupid idiots cross Queen St. right in front of an ambulance causing it to slow down. Stupid Trendy Tards. Cayen went to pick up Blue Jays tickets for tomorrows game.

I met up with Mom and my brother Paul for dinner and beers. Paul is going to come out to the game with us tomorrow.

Dream

I kept dreaming I was on a quest to collect pieces of a Karaoke song. Strange indeed.

Getting Fit

I have a ton of Howard Stern shows downloaded, and now I have to put then in a bit more order in my iTunes.

I have been powering though bike rides at the gym listening to Stern. Even the classic episodes from years ago are still gold and laugh out loud funny.

I have been trying to do the Brad Pitt Diet thing under Ian's instruction. It's so tough cause I love candy and double cheeseburgers dressed like a mac. I have cheated a bit but I know I have reduced my fat and sugar intake. I am really seeing the results. I can feel the leftover fat breaking down on my abs. The muscle underneath now shows and I'm spending more time checking myself out in the mirror. I need to get someone at the gym to show me some of the machines I haven't learned yet.

I went to see Cayen and the band he is running with at the Reverb. Sights & Sounds were great, I'm glad I got to see them. Cayen hooked me up with a T-shirt and a CD.

Cayen wants to go see the Jays on Canada Day, I'm down unless I get some work as an extra on Scott Pilgrim.

Dream Cycle

I wake up quite often throughout the night. sometimes it's because some Jackass I live with makes a racket coming home at 5am, sometimes I wake because of the call of nature, but often I just find myself awake for no reason, alone in the dark, and I go back to sleep. My dreams seem to continue, often some type of quest, and I usually only remember the gist of it.

Last night I was in some type of Shania Twain Fan Club with a group of concert goers or bootleggers, whatever.

When I wake up and then go back to sleep its the same dream.

I wish I could remember more stuff about it but it wasn't very important.

"Go back to Cincinnati you inbred piece of shit!"

I got a phone call from Scotiabank. Scotia bought a controlling interest in Cineplex Odeon-Galaxy-Famous Players-Monopoly Cinemas, and wants me to get a bank account with them in exchange for 4 free movies. I like going to the movies but I'm happy with my bank. Scene points can be exchanged for free movies and I rack them up quite quickly. Free movies don't impress me much, cause I go to one show and stay for two more if I want to anyways. I told the guy I didn't apreciate being soliceted, he assured me I wasn't being solicited. I just don't want to be ion the phone with you, jackass.

I went to the gym and on the way I got a text from Dee. I kinda hoped I would catch her at the gym but I was too late and didn't. I'm probably better off cause I have a hard time concentrating when I watch her work out.

I ran into Kensington to pick up a burrito and some bread(for tomorrows sandwich). Cayen and Shawna showed up just as I got back with a few Steams and some Luckys(of course). We rocked some outdoor bong hits before heading down to the SkyDome.

Cayen is a brother to me and absolutly loves the Blue Jays, it's always a riot to go to a game with him.

The Blue Jays got some Homers! They always do, and it's so fun to watch. They beat Cincinnati Reds 5-7. Ken Griffy Jr. didn't play at all, which we had been looking forward to.

I know the Jays are gonna go it all the way soon...

Bassquarter is a Carnivore

I skipped the gym when Cayen texted me, he is back in town. On my way out the door Bassquarter, our house kitty was disposing of another murder victim by eating it right up.

It was good to see Cayen after his long trip across Canada with Sights & Sounds. We caught up over some beers (It was a hot one today). Shawna came home early and we went to Vallhalla for postcards and then to Kensington for BBQ fodder. We made plans to go see the Jays tomorrow.

Cayen works the BBQ

This is Shawna's dog Rambo, don't let his cuteness fool you, he is a rapist.

Auf Der Maur @ NFB and ELMocombo for NXNE

I went to NFB to see the short film component of Melissa Auf Der Maur's multimedia project. I met Andrew outside and we chatted about shows till Melissa showed up. Before Melissa's project we watched a Sigur Ros film called "With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly", which was really cool. Melissa's OOOM was excellent, it looked fucking sick, it really has to be enjoyed on a bigger screen with some sound. Afterward she stuck around to answer questions, she seemed bitter with her former label Capitol Records, and them not knowing what to do with her multimedia juggernaut.

Melissa rocked a packed house at the ElMo. I got up nice and close and rocked right the fuck out once again. My feet are in serious pain. Andrew recorded the show and gave me a copy of his boot of last years MADM show in Montreal.
I couldn't bare to stick around for unusually late last call, my feets be killing and I'm wrecked from walking around all day and last night's late-night phone catch up with D.

Melissa Auf Der Maur @ Yonge & Dundas Square Toronto

Melissa Auf Der Maur has been absent from the live scene since March at SXSW in Austin TX, it's fitting that her first show since then is at NXNE here in Toronto. A free show at Yonge & Dundas Square, excellent!

She played two new songs off the sometime to be released OutOfOurMinds along with some rockers from her debut self titled LP. I rocked out in my typical fashion, right up front. Melissa rocks my socks.

North by Northeast is a great time for music in the city of Toronto, Queen Street bars packed full of music fans drinking through extended hours(YEAH!). I haven't gotten a wristband since I worked at Sam's (we would get them free, and this year they run 50$). I picked up a one day wristband for tomorrow so I can catch Melissa's short film at NFB and her show at the ElMocombo. I haven't been to the Elmo since it reopened, years ago.

Melissa is so fucking sexy!

I took this video but the audio is pretty blown out in parts. Andrew was there and got the whole show so a good version does exist, its just not mine.

Tripple Feature

If you don't have any friends who want to hang out with you, you can afford to spend the whole day at the movies (specialy when you only pay for the first movie).

The Taking of Pelham 123
I'm not much of a Denzel or Travolta fan, but they both delivered good performances. My problem with this film is John Tuturro (You don't fuck with the Jesus). Tutturo is a great actor, and I have loved him in many roles, but I cringe at his performance in Transformers, and he phones this one in with the same character(sans funny).

Land of the Lost
Will Farrel and Danny McBride are great together in HBO's Eastbound & Down, too bad that magic doesn't show up in this movie. I guess this movie is already certified turd, it's reminded me of Burning Man in some scenes (Out of Place objects and tripping in the Desert).

Imagine That
Eddie Murphy used to be somebody. He was funny, and he was in good movies, those days have gone the way of Pluto Nash.

Drag Me to Hell
Modern horror has one Master, thy name be Sam Raimi. This movie was sick and funny. If you love horror, you need to see this movie.

Pikmin Wii Play Control

Nintendo released Pikmin about 8 years ago on GameCube. I remember watching Jamie play it back in the Augusta days. Now Nintendo has re-released Pikmin for Wii as part of the new Play Control series, in which they add Wii functionality to GC games at a lower price($29.99).

Pikmin was really fun but kind of short. I beat it in a few days. I'm really glad I picked it up cause I had always wanted to play it but was put off by the origional controls. I hope they put out more play control games, perhaps adding a level or upgrading graphics.

I am so close to Platnum status in Club Nintendo, which would net me a sweet exclusive special gift. I need 50 more points by the 30th of June. I thought Pikmin would have have a regestration nimber so I could get some points and was happy to find it did. Unfortunatly it only gives you the 10 points for doing the survey but does not give Club Nintendo Points for the game. I guess because it only costs 30$. I'm thinking of picking up Punch-Out!

No Mo Shoes

I went to hang out with Treya and Lula Pearl today. Baby Lu is getting so big, she is the sweetest!

We took the bus up Yonge St. to the Get Outside outlet store. I found a great looking pair of unique looking Converse, for 30$, I had to get them. I wont need any new shoes for a while, having bought 3 pairs of Cons in as many months.

We grabbed a slice of pizza on the walk back and stopped at the Masterminds toy store. We met up with Papa Andre and went back to thier appartment. Treya made the chilli, and it was excellent.

Treya is the coolest mom around and it's always good to see her.

Go Bayside Tigers Go!

Late Night wars are getting crazy. Conan is up against Letterman and Colbert is in Iraq, and Jimmy Fallon is in Conan's old spot.

I used to watch SBTB all the time. This is the coolest thing, to quote Jessie Spannow "I'm so excited I'm so excited, I'm so...scared".

I did the fit fix circuit at the gym today after yesterday's orientation. Feeling good, looking better.

I just saw a trailer for the new Sandra Bullock movie called The Proposal, in which she plays a Canadian buisness woman who must marry her assistant or face deportation. It's funny cause her assistant in the movie is played by Ryan Renolds(actual Canadian).

I went to FabricLand to get some ideas for Burning Man. I didn't pick anything up cause I need my Moms expert opinion. I will go back there with her this week. This looks cool though:I really like this the look of this old timey dude, I think it would be a good look on the Playa.

Ba Ba Blogger

I loaded up some Howard Stern on the Shuffle and had a quick breakfast. I can't get enough Stern, it's so funny.

I had to be at GoodLife early for my Fix Fit Orientation session. A trainer goes through the machines and shows you the proper technique. I know how to use the old machines, but the newer machines at this gym are slightly different, so it was good to learn the proper form and how to adjust the machines. It went well, and I did some cardio after.

I went to Kensington to get some food. I made some spaghetti for dinner and it was good. Then Paul came over and we did a J.

I'm so tired, but I'm trying to stay up until the Colbert Report tonight, he is in Iraq. It's should be really funny.

Happy Birthday Lew

Got my lazy ass to the gym after skipping 2 days. I ran for 30 minutes and then worked on the upper body, although I don't know how to use some of the machines, so I'm looking forward to my orientation session tomorrow morning.

I got back to my place loade a newer Howar Stern MP3 and smoked a bowl, then headed down to Union Station to catch the bus to Mom's house. It was my Uncle Lewis Birthday, so my mom threw him a party. The party went great, even if maybe Mom had one or four too many margaritas. She should probably not drink AT ALL on her medication, but I'm not a medical professional.

I'm going to go hang out with Mom this week and con her into sewing some Burning Man outfits for me.

Deidra is starting work at a new Staples location tomorrow, and I just know she is going to do awesome.

Hey Mosier! How about you "Produce" another goal!

Kevin Smith's Puck U

Ian picked me up this morning and we hit the highway going west (Stopping at Hortons first of course). We were headed to Brantford Ontario, hometown of the Great One, Wayne Gretzky, for the Walter Gretzky Ball Hockey Tournament. We were there to see Kevin Smith & friends play some road hockey for a good charity.

My G1 came in handy, the Android helped us find the park (and the Beer Store in between games).

We missed the first game, but arrived just in time for the opening ceremony and the second game. It was kind of strange to watch all of these people from my favourite moviesw play hockey, the only time I've seen Mosier with a stick in his hand was in Clerks on the roof of the Quick Stop. Kevin was the goalie and did a good job keeping the net clean of puck. Mosier was on fire durring the third game, scorring 2 goals. The Ref would not call offside on pornstar Katie Morgan (for ethical reasons).

Kevin and his Producer Scott Mosier have been doing a podcast for almost 2 years now called Smodcast. I have been listening since day one and I got Ian hooked on our drive to Timmins. To end the day in Brantford, Kevin and Scott did a live Smodcast at the Sanderson Center in downtown Brantford.

The live Smodcast was great. If you have never heard Smodcast before, download a few episodes for free from the podcast section of Itunes. They mostly talked about the game and brought out player from the team(His friends and regular Smodcast mosier replacements Bryan Johnson and Malcom Ingram, his wife Jen, and Zack & Miri's Katie Morgan)

It was a great day with my good friend Ian, we visited 4 different Tim Hortons on the trip and had a lot of fun. The drive back wasn't bad at all. Kevin said it went so well he was looking forward to doing it again next year, well if he does you can count on me being there too!

Day of Rest

Yesterday I wrote about excuses not to go to the gym. Today I woke up with a great one. I guess I worked my legs harder than I thought yesterday, cause I woke up this morning with horribly sore legs. No gym today, I'm gonna use the rest of my THC body butter tonight to relieve the pain.

I got a save the date from Jagger and Ashlie. Last time he was here Jagger explained to me how save the date and invitations work like he was a Modern Bride subscriber. Getting married seems like an expensive venture.

I went to meet up with G-Mo at the Eaton Centre. We went to Yonge and Eglington, had some lunch and then went to see Up, the new Pixar movie. I usually go see Pixar movies on acid but since I was with my Grandma I went sober.

It was in 3d, but I can't see depth so it didn't do anything for me (other than having to wear the glasses so it wouldn't be blury).

What a great movie, I would like to see it again without the glasses. I had a real emotional conection to the story. Very touching.

I love my Grandma, it's so much fun hanging out with her.

I wanted to go see the Blue Jays Flashback Friday, but I don't want to go to a baseball game alone.

"King Textiles up to 80% off fabrics"

I was looking really hard for an excuse to skip the gym today. I'm excited about the new location I found, but I was feeling lazy and almost gave in and just hit the bong.

SLAP! SLAP!

Snap out of it.

I took out my Burning Man ticket and gave it a look. I don't want to slack off all summer and then go to the desert a flabby mess.

I got my shit together and went to the gym. Got through a 30 minute run(I usually give up after 20mins) then I worked on my legs.

I met up with Mom and Paul at the GO Terminal. Mom had a dentist appointment so we walked her there. She gets nervous at the dentist, but my dentist rocks ao everything was fine.

Mom got us a slice of pizza and we sat and ate and talked. Paul went back to the dentist to get his TOOF taken care of. I walked mom back to Union, making a quick stop at KING TEXTILES. Mom has some free time and is going to help me get ready for Burning Man by sewing some outfits together for me. I found some wicked silver material that is going to make a wicked pair of shorts. I have to go back and pick up a bunch of material, they have so much cool stuff. I have never been in before, but I have been throwing out their cards for years. They have a guy on Queen St. who hands out cards and alway repeats "King Textiles up to 80% off fabrics".

McCaul Goodlife smells like hot ass

I met up with Granny Mo for a light lunch and some talk. We made plans to go see UP! on Friday, and I'm looking forward to it.

Deidra was right! The Goodlife gym in Liberty Village is a million times better than the one at McCaul. I can't believe I have been going to such a shitty club but I guess it was all I knew. The McCaul gym is old, all the machines are way older, it's small, and it stinks like sweat due to shitty circulation, and worst of all it's full of Squash doochebags. Liberty Village GoodLife is brand new, all the machines are new, there is tons of space, it doesn't stink and no Squash courts!

I'm really pissed off MTV.com doesent allow its web content to be viewed in Canada. Kevin Smith did an interview and all I could see was this:Ian and I are going to Branford on Saturday to see Kevin Smith and the rest of the View Askew gang play street hockey in Branford. Then the first ever live Smodcast. According to Kev it may never be released online. I would hope it does cause it would make a great souvenir of the show.

Jumpman Returns

I really want to get myself into shape for Black Rock City, and the "plan" is to eat healthy and go to the gym EVERY SINGLE DAY (possible) till the Burn. So far so good. The Man burns in 95 days.

Today was Nintendo's press conference at E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. They announced two new Mario games! New Super Mario Bros Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2. New SMB Wii is a side scrolling multiplayer platformer. Galaxy 2 is the first sequel for the plumber since his NES days. The original Galaxy was an instant classic in my book and the addition of Yoshi is a perfect fit. I can't wait till Christmastime.

Deidra sent me a txt about the Goodlife gym in Liberty Village. She said it's really cool and modern, so I'm going to check it out tomorrow. I didn't txt her back at first, I have been trying to respect her wishes and leave her alone, even though I really miss her sometimes.

Ticket to Burn

I just caught the doorbell. For some reason I knew it was the Postman, hoping that maybe my Burning Man ticket has arrived. Indeed it has! I'm so excited! I can already taste the playa dust in my beer! The ticket looks so cool, its embossed and has holograms, and the legendary disclaimer on the back of the ticket that indemnifies Burning Man LLC in case of serious injury or death even if they are directly responsible.
