Kevin Smith is the nicest guy ever.

I woke up early to go see Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier on the Dean Blundell show at The Egde 102.1. They did about an hour on the radio pimping the Live Smodcast in Brantford tomorrow. I showed up and waited about 25 minutes before Kevin and Scott walked up. They said hi, Kev remembered me from last time. The Interview was funny as hell, Kev dropped the f bomb at one point. You can get the whole thing by clicking here.  They were really nice and autographed a few things after the interview. Kev signed my Batman Widening Gyre #1 and they both personalized my Clerks DVD. I got a great picture with him and asked about releasing the Zack & Miri Make a Porno screenplay as a Pdf. He said he would post it, which is awesome cause I love to read his work as well as see it onscreen. It's so cool to meet your idol and he's a nice guy, Kevin is the nicest guy.

Afterwards i was so pumped I went to the gym and then checked out an early show at AMC. If you go before noon it's only 6 bucks. I saw Killers. Ashton Kucher and Katherine Heigl were so hot it was almost hard to look at, but in a good way. It was very funny, Catherine O'hera and Tom Seleck's Mustache gave great performances, and I must give a special shout out to Riggles. I wasn't expecting it to be so good, but it was. I fully indorse Killers.

So tomorrow Ian and I will be going to Brantford for the last game and then go see the live Smodcast for the second year. it's going to be so much fun I cant wait!

Me and Kevin Smith

I've finally uploaded the video of my interview with Kevin Smith from back in March. I don't know what took me so long. My camera is shitty and I wasn't prepared at all, I had to ask a dude nearby from Fazer Magazine to hold my camera. In the video, Kevin explains why all stoners should get a team together for the Walter Gretzky street hockey tournament (held this weekend in Brantford).

Kevin will be at the Edge tomorrow with Scott Mosier, I'm planning on going and taking a few pictures.

Hockey Night

I want to be blogging every day but I don't wan't it to be bullshit. I really don't want to record my lameness, but I have missed so many good posts over the last month. I met Kevin Smith, got an interview for my dream job, and applied to University, but haven't blogged about any of it. I guess I should catch up on my blog. Keep the peoples happy. I think I might have to go private though.

I could lie and say I went to the gym today but I didn't. The gym is so much easier with tunes. I have no idea where my ipod is, and this shitty internet connection makes it impossible to download new episodes of Howard Stern in any reasonable time frame.

I went to Paul's work to watch the game. He works with a redhead which I would find distracting, but he seems to manage. The Game was killer, I was expecting Canada to lose to Russia since they haven't beaten them in the Olympics in fifty years. So far these Olympics, Canada's men haven't impressed, but tonight they fucking rocked. It was so cool to kick so much ass. We won the Hockey game, then Gold and Silver in bobsled.

Paul and I went to the Free Times Cafe to see Will. He was really good, and playing to the typically tiny Free Times audience. I really love Will's style and writing. A great night.

Now I write, and tomorrow I write more, Bassquarter is sleeping on my bed that sexy cat. She just loves me cause I got a bag of treats in here somewhere.

Kevin Smith & Walter Gretzky announce World Record ball hockey attempt

Kevin Smith is here in Toronto for his 5th Q&A in as many years at Roy Thompson Hall this Saturday. It's going to be great, he's sure to lay the podium down. He spent the whole day today doing press for the 4th annual Walter Gretzky Ball Hockey Tournament. This years event will be even bigger than last, attempting to break the world record for ball hockey, Kevin also promised a second live Smodcast event (If your saying what's a smodcast? click here).

Kevin fell in love with Wayne Gretzky after Zack and Miri Make a Porno underperformed at the box office. He would get baked and watch Hockey a Peoples History and felt better about the world. He devoted both nights at Roy Thompson to talking about Gretzkyism (Worship of Wayne as Jesus). When he stumbled upon the website for Wayne's dad Walter's charity ball hockey tournament he had to get involved. I went and it was awesome, a day of ball hockey and a night of live smodcast.

I got a few minutes with Kev, at 4:20. I want to upload it but Rogers sucks so fucking much, they are slowing my internets. I will have to got to the library tomorrow, or maybe a coffee shop, but you have to see it.

Hey Mosier! How about you "Produce" another goal!

Kevin Smith's Puck U

Ian picked me up this morning and we hit the highway going west (Stopping at Hortons first of course). We were headed to Brantford Ontario, hometown of the Great One, Wayne Gretzky, for the Walter Gretzky Ball Hockey Tournament. We were there to see Kevin Smith & friends play some road hockey for a good charity.

My G1 came in handy, the Android helped us find the park (and the Beer Store in between games).

We missed the first game, but arrived just in time for the opening ceremony and the second game. It was kind of strange to watch all of these people from my favourite moviesw play hockey, the only time I've seen Mosier with a stick in his hand was in Clerks on the roof of the Quick Stop. Kevin was the goalie and did a good job keeping the net clean of puck. Mosier was on fire durring the third game, scorring 2 goals. The Ref would not call offside on pornstar Katie Morgan (for ethical reasons).

Kevin and his Producer Scott Mosier have been doing a podcast for almost 2 years now called Smodcast. I have been listening since day one and I got Ian hooked on our drive to Timmins. To end the day in Brantford, Kevin and Scott did a live Smodcast at the Sanderson Center in downtown Brantford.

The live Smodcast was great. If you have never heard Smodcast before, download a few episodes for free from the podcast section of Itunes. They mostly talked about the game and brought out player from the team(His friends and regular Smodcast mosier replacements Bryan Johnson and Malcom Ingram, his wife Jen, and Zack & Miri's Katie Morgan)

It was a great day with my good friend Ian, we visited 4 different Tim Hortons on the trip and had a lot of fun. The drive back wasn't bad at all. Kevin said it went so well he was looking forward to doing it again next year, well if he does you can count on me being there too!
